"Escola de Chá Embahú" tea school is the first school dedicated to specialty teas in Brazil. Its primary objective is to disseminate the world of tea in the country, while sharing knowledge, wellbeing and bringing consciousness to its rich culture, philosophy and sensory experience.
Our team is formed by Yuri Hayashi (founder, providing classes since 2013), Cláudio Brisighello (co-founder), Erika Kobayashi (specialist in tea ceremony - chanoyu - and Japanese culture), Renata Acácia (specialist in tea blending, wellbeing and foreign trade) and Taís Beltramin (food engineer specialized in tea).
Today, we provide consulting services for the tea market and industry, besides our training courses: "Essencial de Chás" (Tea Essentials, module I) and "Sensorial de Chás" (Tea Sensory Development, module II). Moreover, there is the "Clube de Degustação ECE" (Tea Tasting Club), an oppotunity for our students and other tea enthusiasts to improve their knowledge in tea cupping, resulting in a certification.
Our school also pioneered with a guided tour known as "Rota do Chá em Registro". It's a scheduled visitation in the city of Registro (Sao Paulo state), considered the most important cultivation area in Brazilian tea history.
In a series of projects aiming at providing knowledge to tea enthusiasts, this brief article about the history of tea in Brazil has been created to be shared, inviting you to a better understanding of this culture in our tropical lands: https://goo.gl/6Wdkvk.
